10 reasons to use CMF Ads

CMF Ads is a brand new advertising network that has been through a few stages of development. The basic site was launched on January 1st, with the new advertising services and widget coming out of beta on January 23rd. I'm one of three admins at CMF Ads and I'm responsible for all of the coding. What makes CMF Ads worth using?

1. Affordable advertising.

A typical ad costs 5 credits ($1.25) for 30 days. Before you decide that's too little, bear in mind that you can have unlimited ads running on your site at any time. With each page view, an ad is chosen at random from the ads currently running on the site.  Ad space sharing keeps the costs of advertising low, thereby encouraging more people to advertise on your site.

2. Earn 100% of the price paid for an ad.

When someone advertises on your site, the credits are removed from their account. When the ad completes, you get all of the credits for that ad. No advertising tax.

3. Set your own ad price.

You can raise or lower your ad price to meet your needs. Not enough ads? Try lowering the price. Too many ads? Try increasing the price. Sites with the lowest ad price will appear first in search results, which encourages new members to keep their prices low.

4. All credits are paid for.

Credits are accumulated in one of two ways. Firstly, you earn credits from the ads placed on your site. Secondly, you can pay for credits via PayPal. 40 credits will cost you $10, and you get a small discount if you buy in bulk. There are no "free credits" in the system based on site activity. Because every credit is paid for, CMF Ads has a stable economy - something that matters enormously in the world economy.

5. You can sell your credits back.

You can choose to use your credits for advertising, or you can sell them back to CMF Ads. We buy back at 50% of our sale price, so we'll buy 80 credits for $10. Just use our contact form, tell us how much you want to sell, and give us your PayPal email address. We'll pay you in dollars, and deduct the credits from your account.

6. Non-blog advertisers are welcome.

Bloggers who wish to run our widget ("Publishers") are not the only people who can use CMF Ads. Sites that do not allow custom JavaScript widgets (e.g. WordPress.com), stores, even people with affiliate ads are welcome to create an advertiser account and buy ads on our publishers. To provide maximum flexibility, publishers can choose whether they wish to accept ads from advertisers or not.

7. Advertising history.

When clicking the Advertise link but before you confirm the ad placement, you'll be able to see your advertising history on the current site. Pageviews, unique visitors, clicks and unique clicks are all displayed here. It's very easy to see how well your previous ads performed, then you can decide whether to advertise on a site multiple times.

8. Multiple sites on one account.

CMF Ads allows you to create multiple sites (both Publishers and Advertisers) on a single login ID. When placing an ad, you simply choose which site to advertise with via a simple drop down list. You can also approve/deny the ads for all of your accounts on a single, easy to use screen. Finally, your login ID is good for our forums too, so you don't have to sign up twice.

9. Best Performing Ads.

Our Top 30 ads (which is still accumulating stats until the first ads have run for a full 30 days) shows the biggest sites in our network. Top performers will benefit from high exposure, which may boost your ad sales and give you a good reason to increase your ad price. A large site could easily have dozens of ads running at the same time, with each ad sharing some of the pageviews for that site.

10. A useful, friendly forum.

You may remember the Top Ten Blog Tips forums - if you didn't already know, these are now the CMF Forums. Same people, different URL. We're using vbulletin and the discussions are useful, informative and spam-free. We have plenty of friendly, knowledgeable members who make the community worth visiting. You can register at the forums, then use your forum account to access the CMF Ads Control Panel and add your sites to the network. You can run our widget and earn credits for free, or you can buy some credits and get a head start with your advertising campaign.

Yep, I joined! After looking around and trying several other options, I think CMF Ads will provide exactly what I'm looking for as both an advertiser and publisher.

I use CMF Ads, Adgitize, EntreCard and more. You should check out Adgitize.

Adgitize pays people to click the ads. In my view, giving an incentive to click ads reduces the value of a click (would they click an ad if there was no incentive?). Plus I don't really want to add more than one ad network to my blog.
